We encourage patients, family members of patients, staff, and healthcare partners to submit a nomination if you’ve experienced exceptional care and/or patient support.

The DAISY Award

The Daisy Award logo The DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses is an international award program that honors and celebrates the skillful, compassionate care nurses provide. DAISY stands for Diseases Attacking the Immune System, and the DAISY Foundation was created by the Barnes family in 1999 to express gratitude for the extraordinary nursing care their family experienced. The DAISY Foundation is the international leader in meaningful recognition of nurses.

These nurses consistently demonstrate excellence through their clinical expertise and extraordinary, compassionate care.

Who is eligible?

Eligible nurses are recognized by our patients, their families, our staff, and other healthcare providers as outstanding role models. When reviewing each story, the selection committee may look at how nurses:

Establish a special connection with the patient or their family
Use their skills and talents to address concerns for other people
Excel in educating their patient and patient’s family
Demonstrates Resilience’s purpose, vision, and values through job performance
Possess excellent people skills when interacting with coworkers and peers
Demonstrate great interpersonal skills with peers and co-workers
Go above and beyond in their overall performance

The Stem Award

The Stem Award recognizes therapists who demonstrate excellent performance, dedication, and exceptional patient care.

The stem is the main structure of a flower that supports the flower and holds its various parts. The stem of a flower is responsible for several functions, including providing structural support, transporting water and nutrients from the roots to other parts of the plant, and serving as a conduit for photosynthesis and energy distribution.

The Stem Award exemplifies a therapist’s excellent performance in patient care, health promotion, and approach to treating injury or disease that empowers patients to learn what they can do themselves to improve their own health.

Nominations for excellent performance can be made by a patient, a patient’s family member, staff, and healthcare providers/partners.Please help recognize their contributions and submit a nomination.
